Mondo Trasho’s «Rekviem» offers moody and miserable punk rock, straight out of the DIY independent scene in Flekkefjord – the black stain on the Norwegian Bible Belt.
The three songs on this EP hark back to the explorative punk of Wipers, Stiff Little Fingers and Hüsker Dü, though additionally equipped with layers of folk in the vein of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska and Tønes and the occasional garage outburst. The Norwegian lyrics, influenced by both rural modernism and agitprop, explore the thrills and troubles of small town life.
